Frequently asked questions

What kind of coaching does Humankind Movement offer?

1:1 and group coaching for general wellbeing, mobility, and injury recovery; prepartum and postpartum recovery coaching; corporate and community wellness programs; movement coaching for neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals of all ages; and speaking or workshops.

What's the difference between a personal trainer and a movement coach?

A personal trainer typically designs and leads workout programs focused on strength, form, and intensity. Movement coaching starts a level deeper: assessing breath, coordination, and how tissue and skeletal structure are actually working together, since that's usually the real cause behind pain, injury, or feeling unstable, not a lack of strength. Ajith Jagadish is a certified Human Biomechanics Specialist, and the approach is built around correcting coordination first, then building strength and capacity on top of that foundation.

Is coaching available online, or only in person?

Most coaching happens online for individuals across the globe, alongside dedicated programs for corporates and communities. In-person coaching is also available on a limited basis for clients based in Bangalore, subject to availability — get in touch and mention your location to check what's possible.

What is the free postpartum recovery guide, and is it evidence-based?

It's a free guide on the gap between medical clearance and actually feeling ready to move again, built from published research, with an endorsement from Dr. Teji Dawane, MBBS, MS (OBG), Head of Department & Lead Consultant, Obstetrics & Maternal Medicine at Medicover Women & Children Hospital, Bengaluru. It deliberately avoids bounce-back pressure or generic timelines.

When can I start running again after having a baby?

Most healthcare providers give a general clearance around six weeks, but that's checking for immediate complications, not confirming your body is ready for running specifically. The evidence-based guidance points closer to twelve weeks, and even then, only once you can move through basic strength and control checks without symptoms like leaking, pain, or heaviness. Clearance and readiness are two different things — the free guide covers the full timeline in detail.

Is diastasis recti dangerous, or does it go away on its own?

Diastasis recti isn't dangerous on its own, but it's a sign your core isn't yet coordinating the way it should, and it often persists without focused work. For some people the gap narrows with time and daily movement; for many it needs deliberate breath and coordination work, not just time. The width of the gap alone doesn't predict how much it affects you — what matters more is whether your breath, deep core, and pelvic floor are working together under everyday load.

Do you offer movement coaching for neurodivergent adults, not just children?

Yes. Movement coaching for neurodivergent individuals of all ages, including adults, is one of the core areas of coaching offered, available 1:1 or in groups alongside neurotypical peers.

I'm not sure which type of coaching is right for me. What should I do?

Reach out directly. Share what you're looking for (for yourself, your organisation, or a neurodivergent individual), where you're based, and a little about your situation, and the first conversation will start in the right place.

Are there reviews from past clients?

Yes. Humankind Movement has a 4.9★ average from 29 Google reviews.

Do you help with aches and pains like neck, shoulder, back, knee, or foot pain?

Yes. Movement coaching that addresses common aches and pains, including neck, shoulder, back, knee, and foot pain, is part of general 1:1 and group coaching, built around your specific movement patterns and strength. It's coaching, not a substitute for a medical diagnosis or physiotherapy care, so a real clinical assessment comes first if something feels acute or unclear.

How much does coaching cost?

Online 1:1 coaching sessions typically range from ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 per session (roughly $11–$26 / £8–£20 / €9–€23), depending on session length and package. In-person sessions in Bengaluru are priced separately, up to around ₹3,000 for an assessment, and postpartum recovery is also available as a discounted prepaid package. The first conversation is always the ₹1,000 intro call, so you know the fit before committing to anything larger.

Is there a paid introduction call, and how much does it cost?

Yes. A 20-minute introduction call is ₹1,000 (~$11), a short paid conversation to understand your situation and confirm the right starting point before committing to coaching. Reach out through the contact form to arrange a time.

Do you work with clients outside India, and across different time zones?

Yes, most coaching clients are outside India, across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia. Sessions are scheduled around what works for your time zone, not just IST, and coaching is entirely online for international clients, so location is not a barrier.

How do clients outside India pay for sessions?

Payment is handled through standard online bank transfer, Revolut, or Xoom, converted to INR at the time of payment. Because pricing is set in Indian Rupees, most clients paying in USD, GBP, or EUR find the cost noticeably lower than equivalent coaching in their home country, with no difference in the coaching itself.
